If a user upgrade to Outlook XP from Outlook 2000 , he may get an error message about a problem with Pstprx.dll.
The file name in the error message that user receives depends on the type of upgrade. If he upgrades over OL2000 in Corporate or Workgroup (CW) mode, the filename is Pstprx.dll. If he upgrades over OL2000 in IMO mode, the filename is Pstprx32.dll.
Some explanation. According to Microsoft :
<< If you upgrade to Microsoft Office XP while you are using Microsoft Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only (IMO) mode and you remove Office XP, revert to Microsoft Office 2000, and upgrade again to Office XP, you may receive the following error message when you start Outlook XP >>
According to Microsoft this trouble was solved by the installation of OXP Service Pack 1.
BUT, this Service Pack is already applied on the "official" distribution of Office XP at CERN !
Starting Outlook XP with a new profile may resolve this trouble.
Procedure :
Close Outlook XP
From Control Panel, double-click Mail .
Click Show Profiles
Remove All profiles.
Click Ok.
Run this to reconfigure your mail account: \\cern.ch\dfs\applications\CERN\OLExchg\OLxpForCERN.vbs
