To what extent do you think children should be responsible for looking after their parents when they are older or alone ?

Children when their parents get older should look after them. They should provide them safe. For me if children let their parents go to a Home for elderly that is the most sad thing that could happen if it's not necessary. And they weren't worth all of the effort that parents gave them in the past. Obviously it's important to talk to them, to make them feel really great to assure them that they are in great shape. Just to let them forget about the age that they have/are. To make them the happies old couple on the world. That is really sad when childreen leave their parents when they are useless when they can't help and additionally only need help. Parents when their get older will know correctly how much they were loved by their child.
I think that's normally that we, as our parents do it now, children must take care of our mother and father when they become old, because they took care of us when we were little.
I've met some people who said that their parents were very important people to them. And it was quite clear that those guys were going to take care of their parents.
And I know people who, sadly, do not feel anything towards their parents or one of their parents. Sometimes they even dislike them. For instance it might be caused by the fact that their parents divorced when they were very young and one of parents did'd take any part in their upbringing and actually behaved as if he or she didn't love them. Or one of them was an alcoholic. It happens from time to time. As a result there is no connection between a child and a parent. I'm not surprised that in this case elderly parents or one of them didn't receive any attention. It seems cruel but it results from the other cruelty.
