1. Opisz osobę, która przeszła zaskakującą zmianę.

I have known Robert since I was in primary school. I remember him as a very clever and friendly boy but his problem was inordinate shyness. Robert’s parents used to be strict, probably too strict for him, who have always been even minded and thin – skinned.
Within years, Robert still barely had friends. For girls he was unprepossessing, for classmates – too curious. He was not interested in football and have never spent the whole day outdoors. He was rather keen on books, he learned a lot but he was lonely. Other children called him ‘crammer’ or ‘dexter’.
Six years ago his parents decided to move house. Robert was frightened to death. New place, seemed to be a new world, even another planet, something enormous and terrifying. But Robert had no choice and our contact was over.
Last month I found a letter in my mailbox. I had no idea, who could write to me. I opened it and still cannot believe in what I have read. That letter was from Robert. He wrote that he remembered only my address, and is aware of how many years has elapsed but despite of this he decided to send me a letter. He has lived for years in London with his parents and now he is a proud student of the Oxford University. He has a girlfriend and got a lot of self – confidence. His keenness in learning has came into fruition. And no one can tell even one bad word about him. How surprising may life be…

2. Napisz rozprawkę, w której przedstawisz argumenty za i przeciw zamykaniu centrów handlowych w niedziele i inne dni świąteczne.

Shopping centres open around the clock are not something new for us. When one got used to this convenience, big malls went further and stay open within the whole week. Many people were for closing shopping centres on Sundays and other holidays after all. This solution has advantages as well as disadvantages.
To start with, the main argument for closing shopping centres is a question of employees. After six days of work, on Sunday they want to attend to family and their matters. It is also only chance of relax. Secondly, working on Sundays and holidays is against precepts of the Roman Catholic Church. The bishops often urge to stop breaking principles. It is another argument for closing shopping centres.
On the other hand, this solution may cause bad effects. Some employees want to work even though on Sundays because of their hard financial situation. If somebody do not have a family or is an unbeliever, why cannot he earn more money? It should have been dependent on the principles that one lives by. What is more, closing malls appears to be an action against the basics of free trade.
Getting everything into account, closing shopping centres on Sundays and other holidays has both pros and cons. Many governments have already been searching for the best solution of this problem, but probably the most reasonable choice is to let people decide by themselves what to do – close malls, stop working, or not.

Z góry dziękuję.
