Hey guys.

An infinity of gratitude for all your patience during this 4 month period. Here's a few quick answers to start things off. No I haven't quit the show. No I haven't died. (Yet) No I haven't turned it over to anyone else. I'm still here, plugging away as usual. There have, however, been some major developments. Developments which I am now allowed to share with you, without the slightest possibility of being sued, severely beaten, or assassinated by an elite team of ninja lawyers. They have them. I've SEEN them.

So here goes.

The Xombie property has been optioned by actual, real-life Hollywood producers, who make actual real-life Hollywood movies. Which means, at long last, after almost a year of phone calls, contracts and trips to L.A., there will be a fully-animated Xombie movie. Let me say that again. A fully-animated Xombie movie. Let me say that again... It just feels so good to say it.

The movie itself has been in development for well over a year (as stated), and as of today, has finally gone into production with co-producer Wetsand Animation Studios at the helm. Pictures (yes, Xombie pictures) are actually being drawn at this very moment. By artists. Real ones.

As the production kicks into gear, you - the fans - will be granted access to Wetsand Animation Studios, where you can literally watch the movie being made! Check out the official production site at Xombie.ca. Soon you'll be able to browse all the latest movie news, concept art, video diaries and more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's some movie related questions I've received thus far.

Q: What's the movie about?

A: The movie itself will take us from Chapter 1 through 10 in a single, 70 minute stroke of awesome - covering all of the story you know - and more of the story you don't.

Q: Are you drawing the whole movie yourself?

A: No. This was originally the plan, if you can believe it. But over the past year, everyone has kind of agreed that this movie required actual "animators." People who "know what they're doing" and "aren't named James." For this very reason, Wetsand Animation will be co-producing the film. That means they will be drawing all the storyboards, backgrounds and (yep) doing the animation as well.

Q: So then what are you doing, if anything?

A: In addition to writing the script and making a general nuisance of myself, I am a Producer and Co-Director on the project, flanked by three other REAL Producers who keep me from looking like a complete idiot. (That's "complete" idiot) I will be overseeing the production itself, and handling the initial character designs.

Q: Will all the characters look the same?

A: Yes and no. You will recognize all of them, though some will be undergoing a slight face-lift. The real answer is they will all look much cooler. (And yes, Zoe's hair will be returning to normal)

Q: Will the story be the same as it is in the web episodes?

A: Another yes and no. If the movie is the complete story, the web episodes are the Cliff's Notes - or highlights. The movie will show you everything! It will also fill in all the plot holes, answer all (well, most of) the nagging questions, and make for a much more satisfying story overall.

Q: Will there be more fighting?

A: Definitely YES! Wetsand Animation and I will be working to amp up the action considerably. Furthermore, the fights you've already seen have been retooled, and the scope enhanced in light of the film. Zombies will be severely mangled in the making of this motion picture.

Q: Who exactly is making this movie? I want names!

A: Little demanding, aren't we? Well, far be it from me to deny potential stalkers.

John Frank Rosenblum, Executive Producer
John Frank began his career in entertainment as a writer/producer on the BBC series Doctor Who . After moving back to the United States, he produced Alferd Packer: The Musical with Matthew Stone & Trey Parker, creators of South Park . In live theatre she has produced stage plays in! New York, Los Angeles, and Telluride CO, several of which were for the Chrysler Theatre Company.

Brian Finlay, Wetsand CEO
Brian Finlay is the founder and CEO of Wetsand Animation Inc. and he doesn't know how to take 'no' for an answer. After dropping out of the second year of animation at the New Brunswick Community College, he moved to Toronto determined to enroll in the more advanced program at Sheridan College. His application was rejected. But as he was preparing to return to Atlantic Canada and a chorus of 'I told you so' a position opened at the last minute. Two years later, finances forced him to leave school and go job hunting. He landed a great new job in Chicago, only to be turned back by U.S. Customs are too inexperienced. Disappointed and embarrassed, he returned to his hometown and began a short-lived career working in call centers. On the day of his bachelor party, Brian got a job offer from an animation studio and finally began doing the work he loves. In 2002, he set up Wetsand Animation and started hunting for freelance work. Two years later, he runs a 30-artist studio in Dart! mouth, Nova Scotia. Wetsand has worked on properties such as Mucha Lucha, SpongeBob Squarepants and Shrek for companies such as Hasbro and Warner Brothers. And he can't wait to start work on Xombie!!!!

George Butters, Wetsand Vice President
George Butters is Wetsand's VP of Business Development & Media Relations. He is also CEO of Discash.com Inc., an electronic commerce company, CEO of Smartypants.com Inc., an IT consulting company, and webmaster for Child Find Canada. His daughter, Meghan, works for Discash.com as a graphic designer and runs her own riding stable on Nova Scotia's scenic Cape Breton Island.

Richard Morris, Director
Richard Morris' passion for drawing started early, and he could be found copying characters from television cartoons from the day he could hold a pencil. After graduating from Sheridan College in 1992, he wrangled himself a job at Michael Mills Productions and has been working in the Canadian animation industry ever since. In 1995, after working for a series of small studios and graphic design jobs, Rich became a character designer at Montreal's CINAR animation. There he worked on Mona the Vampire, Caillou, Animal ers, and Arthur – a multi-season project which won his team three Daytime Emmy Awards. He now works at Wetsand Animation in Dartmouth (in Nova Scotia, Canada), getting his start with some animated shorts for noted children's author Dav Pilkey. Rich is currently directing the pilot episodes of Da Jammies, an urban hip-hop animated cartoon. His next project in the queue? Directing Xombie - Dead on Arrival. "James Farr's Xombie is pretty much tail! or-made to my interests," he says, looking forward to working with James on the series that he – along with legions of fans – has been following for years. "This is what it means to work at Wetsand," Rich continued. "There's always something interesting happening, and we've got great quality projects to work on. Every project that's come along has been something that we can be truly proud to put our name on. The chance to work on Xombie is, for me, the icing on the cake!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there you have it. Thanks again for all your patience, support, and undying enthusiasm (pun intended) for the Xombie project. At the end of the day, we all want this to be the coolest cartoon you've EVER seen. Yes. We are going to create a finite unit of animated entertainment which, according to every relevant parameter, should not exist. An animated film which combines not only zombies and shovels, but mummies, dinosaurs, Lovecraftian mecha, and spaceships equipped with rapid fire plasma guns. I don't know about you, but that's just about the best thing I've ever heard.

I can't wait for you guys to see this!

James
